Ran in OpenGL fine the first time, now it keeps crashing

I recently reinstalled Skulltag to play a mod called Brutal Doom. I ran a plain game in OpenGL adjusted all my settings, exited and then started a game with the mod and played the game for a few hours just fine. I take a break, and now when I try and launch the game in openGL it keeps crashing. Doesn't matter if I launch from skulltag.exe or doomsweeper, and whether I load the mod doesn't matter either. I've done some searching, but I haven't found a viable solution for me (an "ati fix" doesn't work at all, and I am not rolling my drivers back a few years since I still play modern games that need newer drivers). I have ATI video cards and I am running 12.2 drivers.

What would have caused it to stop working after it ran perfectly fine in OpenGL the first time?

If you get bluescreens in those crashes, then we might have the same issue:

I already stated in my main post that I am using AMD/ATi video cards. 5870s specifically.
